Staple Dress Pattern Now In Stock

I am a self-confessed Staple Dress addict.  This pattern is such a dream to sew - the ideal first venture into dress making and perfectly named as you can dress it up or down, sew with the drop hem for more drama, lengthen or even shorten to make a top. A true staple of any wardrobe.

We've been aware of the Staple Dress for a while now but I only got round to ordering the PDF pattern from April Rhodes about a month ago.  The PDF instructions are fab but, like all PDF patterns, a bit of a pain to print off and assemble (imagine lots of grumbling whilst getting stuck to long stretches of cellotape).  So imagine our joy when we discovered that April had plans for a paper pattern!

I've made two Staples with pockets and a straight hem.

For my first I chose this gorgeous blue Art Gallery fabric.

For the second, this beautifully soft lawn from Sevenberry was just begging to be 'Stapled'!  I did shirr the middle but added a wrapped belt so it can be worn with ...

 ... or without the belt.

I have a third planned in this amazing midnight floral lawn, again by Sevenberry - this one I think with the dropped hem?

For inspiration, check out Katy's blog as well as Rae's and the others on the Staple Dress blog hop they hosted a few weeks ago.
